New Business
Dibbler … Dibber … (toe-may-toe … toe-mah-toe) LSW has been invited to Lake Superior
Master Gardener Association’s annual plant sale in June. We’ve been involved the past couple
of years and have sold Garden Dibblers to help raise funds both for LSW and for the Master
Gardeners! If you would like to be involved you can donate some hand-made dibblers to be
included in the sale.
Show & Tell – As always, we love to see what you’ve been turning. You can ask for critiques of your
work, or you can simply show your turnings. We can discuss turning ‘challenges’, talk about best
practices, and chat about perplexing pieces of wood you would like suggestions on how to turn or
what to turn it into.
Safety Minute – “What is the biggest safety rule concerning the lathe?”
Raffle: We have a great membership, and once again we are looking for help with raffle prizes. If
you have something you could donate whether it’s a piece of wood, a tool you don’t use, or a turning
you have done we would appreciate the donation. Depending upon the quantity received your
donation may be saved for a future month’s raffle.
Program – Ray Hyde – Ray has many talents, this month he will be demonstrating how mixing two
crafts together can be fun and beautiful. Ray will demonstrate how to braid a reed rim onto a wood
turned bowl, sharing tips he has learned along the way.
